SWS is playing a key role in the wireless charging market
through its partnership with Ossia Inc.
Ossia’s award-winning Cota™ technology enables true
mobile wireless charging over a 30 foot range, even in the
presence of obstacles or non-line of sight between charger
and receiver, through an innovative RF approach.
The two main components of the Cota wireless charging system are the
charging base station and the receiver. SWS has developed the chipset
solution for Cota, which consists of the SWS1410 charger and the SWS1420
The charging base station is based on the SWS1410 and delivers focused
RF power directly to the device to be charged with intelligence to locate the
device within 30 foot range and to avoid any obstacles between the
charging base station and receiver.
The SWS1420 receiver is in the device to be charged and efficiently
receives and converts RF power into DC power to charge and power the
device. The SWS1420 is capable of interfacing to different types of
batteries or directly powering the client system.
